Sea Sevilla: Transitions

Mexican-American, queer, multimedia artist Sea Sevilla’s newest exhibition Transitions combines her series The Animal Kingdom with new three-dimensional sculpture pieces and work from a new two-dimensional painting series.

Sea has an extensive background in the 3D world, having worked with some of the most renowned artists of our time. A recent injury forced her to rethink her personal art practice and adopt the new-to-her medium of painting. Diving into the 2D world presented a new challenge as she has a predisposition to “feel” everything around her, but painting has presented a new opportunity to explore and express herself. With Transitions, Sea returns to her roots of 3D work while simultaneously diving further into her 2D practice.
